Numbers, Letters, and More!

Now that we have established classroom routines, it is time to get to business!

This past week in Math, we were using chalk boards to practice writing numbers, and we had to draw pictures using that number.  Some of the class had a chance to explore the number 6 and figure out how many ways we could make the number 6 using unifix cubes.

In phonics, some children did word puzzles and were trying to figure out all the letters in the puzzles, while others were looking at pictures and having to sort them under the correct beginning sounds.  Both groups did amazing!

We continued to talk about community helpers.  This week we talked about police officers and bakers!  We made a police officer craft, turned into bakers, and baked chocolate chip cookies for the school. Mmmmm! They were delicious!

We can’t forget Little Cat Creek! This week we met the Cattail Princess and got to touch beaver fur. We saw a beaver skeleton, and dipped for water bugs in the pond!  We played games and had a tea party! It was another great afternoon!
