PlayPumps

We have been working very hard in the Grade 3/4 class! In Language Arts we have been learning about Bucket Filling. We started a Bucket Filling Journal and wrote about what it means to be a Bucket Filler. To get ready for Thanksgiving we talked about what we are thankful for. We were thankful for our families, friends, and the sports and activities we do.

In Lego League,we learned about PlayPumps. In some parts of the world, children do not always have access to water. Engineers designed a PlayPump to solve this problem.  A PlayPump is a merry-go-round that is attached to a water pump. As the children spin the merry-go-round, the pump brings up water from the ground and leaves it in a holding tank. The children can use this water to drink and wash their hands. For our Lego League Challenge, we worked with our house teams to construct a PlayPump.  When our PlayPump is completed, it will be able to pump Lego Water!
