A spring filled with dancing, exploring, and recycling!

The Grade 1/2 Class has had a very busy spring!  We were excited to be invited to watch the Grade 7/8 Shakespeare presentations.  We loved being part of the jury as the Grade 7/8 students created a courtroom drama to determine who was responsible for Juliet’s death. The actors did a great job trying to convince us to see their point of view.  We also really liked their costumes!

We visited Little Cat Creek Conservation Area for the last time this year and enjoyed pond dipping, exploring the forest and searching for wild flowers.   We were even lucky enough to find a Red Trillium on our walk through the woods!

We had a blast at Fort Henry, dancing with 3000 other students at the Celebration of Dance! It was exciting to be part of such an enthusiastic crowd and dance on a gorgeous day!

In our Earth Science unit, we explored garbage.  We wanted to see how we could reduce our waste by recycling and composting more.  We completed a classroom assessment of our garbage and discovered that there were many things in the garbage that should have been put into the compost and the recycling bin.  After we finished our class investigation, each student completed  an investigation at home.  Some students were very proud of their family’s efforts and others decided that they needed to do a little more at home to help our planet.
